PAST SHOWS EVENTSCulture NIght 2014This years Culture Night 2014 at Damer House Gallery saw Itsa Collective host an open public discussion and exhibition on Friday, September 19th. Following the success of their self-curated show at the 2014 Graduate exhibition in GMIT’s Centre for Creative Arts and Media, the group once again opened their practice to the public, at an informal, participation lead discussion of their work. Itsa Collective examines contemporary visual culture in its philosophical and aesthetical meanings, and work together to create a space for in formal discussion. Their artworks were displayed alongside the artist’s own research allowing for a more in-depth experience.
For Itsa Collective, the evening was an exciting venture into the public sphere and they were very encouraged to see the amount of people willing to engage in contemporary art discussion. There was both learning and teaching at this informal discussion based evening, and the public got a uniquely interesting and accessible insight into the world of these contemporary artists.
